BATTLING Warrington Town showed fight against King’s Lynn Town but couldn’t find enough to rescue a point. Josh Amis’ header gave them 25 minutes to find an equaliser after the full-time visitors had scored two goals a minute either side of the half-time break. The first was perhaps typical of the luck Warrington are attracting in their current run of form, Peter Clarke’s clearance bouncing off Gold Omotayo’s shins and firing in to the bottom corner from 10 yards. They had barely had time to lick their wounds from that at half time and they had fallen two goals down, Tom Hughes expertly steering Freddie Sass’ left-wing cross inside the near post. After the dismal displays against Marine and Southport, chances of a second half fightback appeared remote but the Yellows showed a fighting spirit that had perhaps been absent in those games. Directed by Bohan Dixon at the base of midfield, the Yellows started to find half chances and on 64, Amis headed home from Murphy Bennett’s right wing cross. Amis went close to getting on the end of Connor Woods’ pull back from the left, cleared off the line by Greg Taylor, and Elliot Morris was barged over by Josh Coulson on the edge of the box just as he went to pull the trigger. Despite their efforts, the hosts couldn’t find the clear cut opening to find the equaliser, Amis heading wide with the best chance in the final minute of the 90, as they fell to a third successive defeat. | ||||||
